Review – Inception

August 12, 2010

I do not really go to the movies much. I rather rent or see a blockbuster in theater. I go many 2-3 times a year if lucky. So finally some time popped up to go see it IMAX style. Six stories and 1200 watts of movie goodness. The only way to make it better is to sell me a GIANT coke while watching.
Ok here goes my review.

Inception is a dark movie. Not as dark as Batman but Nolan did a great job of setting the tone. I have read many reviews and tried to stay away from spoilers for weeks now. People were complaining of it being to confusing? WHAT? where?

It is a simple story. These guys go into peoples dreams to take information from them. Secrets. In dreams anything goes but what happen in real life in ways still reflects in the dream states. Not only that but there can be layers of dreams. Deeper the layers you go the slower the time scale.

The action scenes are great and the dream states worked so good together. Leo great job on acting along with all your other actor(ess)es

*****SPOILERS******
I loved the ending like that. very H.G.Wells like. Anyway I think he was not dreaming.

Just finished watching this over the weekend and I was impressed. The book of ELI is a post-apocalyptic world where Eli (Denzel Washington) belives he needs to take this book he found West to the coast. The book is the bible. The movie is not colorful but desaturated as it should be. Really pulls you into the story. The story does have a nice twist at the end. Overall I think this was a good movie with a deep enough story to make it interesting.

Gary Oldman plays the bad guy and does a great job of it. I was hoping for more mad max type stuff but it felt more like a western to me. His conclusion to the story I found a bit lacking.

If you enjoy mad max series you will enjoy this. I think this is much better than “the road” which was just a depressing depressing flick.

The Samsung 2525w Laser printer is my first laser printer.  Still have the epson all in one ink jet printer/ scanner combo.  The problem is we rarely do any printing on it and when we did it took an hour to clean the ink nozzles and hoping the ink was not empty or dry.

So with a great deal purchased this.  So far printered a 200 page magazine that came out wonderful.  The quality is far better than a ink jet.  I did not get the color one but this is still perfect for reading.  Now I will print more for reading and viewing tutorials.

I recommend this printer for home use for anyone.  Also the wireless is a bit tricky to setup.  The instructions were useless to me.  First you install the drivers and have it plugged into your main machine.  Setup the wireless on it then you can unplug the USB port.  Setup on Win 7 very easy.   Just search for printer.  Will pop up and install proper driver.  XP I had to manually download the wireless drivers for it.  Other than that it was easy and works perfectly.

BTW I got this for 80$ after rebates.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland.  What a movie.  I wanted to enjoy it,  really I did.  In reality the movie is like watching a SCIfi B-movie.  The characters are all there.  The Cheshire Cat, tweedle dee, dumb, the Jobber Wokie, the Rabbit, etc.  Should of been a no brainer, but it failed.  First this is not a redo of the old Alice in Wonderland story.  This is a story 10 years later when she is grown up and about to be married.  Down the rabbit hole she goes.

Johnny Dep….What the hell happened to you?  Do you only change clothes and outfits but play the same character over and over and over?  FAIL.

Highlights of the film.  The Cheshire cat is nice and so is the smoking Caterpillar. The rest is a sweaty hairy ass with strips of soiled toilet paper and tiny chunks of plop.

Abbygail 4-7 weeks.
